Wildlife Questions - Pet Attacks
Most birds caught by cats or dogs have an injury somewhere; usually puncture wounds, which are not readily seen. Wounds must be flushed immediately and antibiotic treatment initiated, therefore it is very important that the bird gets to our shelter as soon as possible. Please call our wildlife hotline for more details or advise at (780) 914-4118.

The majority of birds caught by cats are fledglings, parent birds protecting their young, or as a result of being on the ground after a window strike.

* In order to prevent cats injuring wildlife, please keep cats indoors or confined to an outdoor enclosure during fledging season (mid-May till August).

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to call our wildlife hotline at (780) 914-4118.
